I think most of us understand that Iran is a threat to us as well as the rest of the non-muslim world. Iran is not capable of attacking us directly unless they do so in Iraq and then I would think other countries will respond accordingly. If they failed to do so then we would be justified in doing whatever we need to do to meet the threat.

The question you should ask first is why is the US getting involved in a civil war in a country 8000 miles away? There are at least 50 countries with dictators as bad as Iran. The purpose of the US government is not to be the policemen of the world. We have enought problems in our own country to take care of first. We should lead by example and not military might.
