I have a 1996 Toyota Corolla and my passenger side sideview mirror broke. Its just a dummy mirror (not automatic) but it is required as I have my car inspection due. I live in NY.

I contacted the authorized dealer and he gave me a price of $170 !! Other auto-body shops also giving me the same price. I don't even use the mirror that often !!

Does anyone know where to get cheap sideview mirrors from. I tried looking at Ebay but no help.

Any comments/suggestions will be of great help.

Also.. I thot i would duck-tape the whole thing so that it stays there but I am not sure if that is legal in terms of getting car through the inspection test.

I would look into checking out any local wrecking yards. They may have a mirror that will work. Often a car maker will use the same mirror on more than one model for a few years.

Duct tape is a bad Idea. ever herd of glue? maybe some kind of contact cement would better suit what your looking for and that way it doesn't look like you were just trying to save a few bucks.

you need to look at different auto salvage yards, one of them may have your mirror, good luck.
