My dashboard message center displays the above noted maintenance advisory message. The shifting mechanism that is controlled by the dash-mounted push buttons doesn't work like it should. Sometimes I have to push the buttons a few times before it actually shifts. Any ideas as to what the cause is?

It could be any number of problems from low front diff oil to your 4WD selenoid going out. either way take it to a shop and have it checked. Its worth the money to have it looked at by a pro even if you plan on doing repairs yourself.

Im going to ought to agree heavily with ROGER in this one. quite relies upon on the tranny your pulling it out of. The converter is the final element you ever prefer to change out of autos. If it has crap interior it, that is going to take out your tranny in a heartbeat
