I just started Birth Control about a week ago. The purpose was to help my painful cramps. The doc made me start on the med when I was on my period. It has been a day after when I should be off of my period, so why am I still bleeding?

The bleeding is light to medium, but not really like my period.

I have an appointment with my doc this Tuesday so any suggestions would be nice.

It is normal to have a period (no pun intended) of adjustment when starting birth control pills. If you are concerned about using artificial hormones, consider drinking 1 to 3 cups of Red Raspberry Leaf tea everyday, especially the two weeks right before your period starts. It is so good for menstrual pain, and will even help lessen the amount you bleed.

The hormones that are in birth control pills will help adjust your periods. Sometimes it takes awhile. You might want to take iron supplements this might help too. If you feel it isn't helping let the doc know you might need your dosage adjusted. Goodluck!

sometimes it takes a wile to adjust.
But if you keep getting spotting or similar ask the doc to change it to a different one.( that happened to me had spotting most of the time,so I toOK it different one) that one was ok and a lot less cramping

I took mine at the first day of my interval. My intervals have been a lot lighter they usually most effective lasted for three days at the same time on them. However I stopped taking them considering the fact that they gave me terrible migraines.

It usually takes a pill pack or two to get on track with the pills.
