You haven't found your niche. What makes YOU truly happy. Make a list of the things that you enjoy doing, the things that make you happy, the things that make you feel good about yourself. It sounds like you may have some self esteem issues as well. Have you tried therapy, group therapy, or joining a group? There may be underlying issues there that are keeping you from happiness. Don't dwell in sadness, it multiples when you do. Volunteer to help people, it'll make you feel better about yourself and maybe give you a reason to see that you are lucky to have your life. Also, because you've been on meds, you may not have been on the right ones. My depression wasn't helped until I got on the right combination. It's a chemical imbalance. Good luck.

It's not fair for people to tell you that you need God.
And it's not fair for people to tell you that you're being childish and need to grow up.
And frankly, life is not fair. I understand depression. I was once depressed. I can now no longer be depressed. Am I happy? Yeah, but I wouldn't call it happy. I would call it content. I am totally and completely content with my life and with everyone and everything around me. Why? Because of a decision I made a few years back.
Depression is a natural mechanism. It's natural purpose is to catalyze a drastic life change within you.
Submit to nature. Nature is pulling you down right? Your environment is depressing you, right? All your attempts to correct yourself end in deeper depression, right? Well then, submit to the downward pull. The only reason depression is so frustrating is because people fight it. Don't fight it. Nature is trying to teach you something. You will only find peace when you finally stop fighting.
Raise your arms (literally if you have to) in surrender. Give up. Stop trying to stop a moving train. You're ON the train. If you try to stop it, you'll hurt yourself. God is love, but that won't help you. Telling you you're childish won't help either.
The thing that helped me is the only thing that will help you. I am only human. Therefore, if my body, mind, and soul choose to be depressed, I need to follow the natural flow and direction of nature. Christians are right with their wisdom. "Submit to God." In other words, give up and allow your creator to have its way with you.
Here it is simple:
(1) Trust nature, trust in God, trust that everything will be all right, no matter how you feel.
(2) Acknowledge your feelings, observe them and submit. Don't be ashamed of them. Don't fight. Just know that things aren't ever what they seem.
(3) As you live, in everything that you do, even if you're unsure about it, do everything confidently without shame.
Doing these things is a form of mortification. You must be willing to undergo deep humiliation, acceptingly. If you do these three things you will find that the world will open up before your eyes. You will see a light and find a strength that you never before knew you had.
Trust me. I've done it. And I am happy.

Not to mean but grow up. I was depressed from 11 to a few months ago [I'm 15]. Think about the people that don't have food to eat, or a computer to ask questions on. I think that is when someone should be depressed
