One thing I find interesting is that the media condemns female celebrities for gaining and losing weight. So women can gain 10 pounds be too fat or lose 20 and be too skinny.

I've seen the checkout stand magazine covers showing celebrities who are way too skinny. Granted, they're grown women, but can many people admit after seeing the scathing articles about their collegues' about cellulite and weight gain, they too wouldn't diet to the extreme?

Maybe this is an avenue your paper hasn't taken yet, hope it helps.

Good luck.

You might want to try the following two websites:
www.infotrac-college.com/wadsworth
http://psychology.wadsworth.com/barlow_durand4e?

They're both listed in my Abnormal Psych textbook, and they have links to other sites that deal with eating disorders.
You might want to mention that the age of onset for anorexia and bulimia nervosa is in adolescense, usually around 13 years of age. In addition (and perhaps more importantly), there is strong evidence to suggest that these disorders develop in immigrants who move to the United States and other Western countries. This lends support to the theory that media does influence incidence/prevalence rates, because these people were not previously exposed to the same images of super-thin women in their home countries.
