I agree with Ryan, a Mac is the best to have without having to worry about viruses and spyware! If you don't want a Mac or for some reason you can't get one, I'd suggest you get a Dell! But like any other computer, you need to have virus protection for your Dell at all times! I've had a Dell desktop for about 7 years now with the virus protection from McAfee and I haven't had any problems with it! It's perfect! and i just recently bought me a Dell laptop, which is the one I'm using right now! They're really good and reliable! The Dell On Call really helps too, in case you have any problems with your computer!
Hope I helped!

Not one of these people know what they are talking about. Acer and Asus make the best laptops there are to offer and Linux is by far the easiest operating system on the planet plus its free. For computers think about getting an alienware, they are the mighty gods of computers.

Hello BLC C,
I recommend that you get an Apple Macintosh. It sounds like you might be new to computers and if so, the Macintosh is a perfect computer for you to start learning. It's virus free. It's easy to use and to get onto the Internet. Stuff like listening to music or dealing with pictures from your digital camera are easier too.
Go to a Macintosh dealer near you and have them let you use a Macintosh for a little while. Try an iMac. You'll see for yourself how easy it is to use and what sort of things that you can do with it.
Best of luck, BLC C.

Performance and Ease of Use-wise, I believe that Macs are currently the best around, but to get a Mac of good specifications (2GB Memory...etc) it would cost you more than Dell's for example. However, I find that it's totally worth it.
I'd recommend either a MacBook or a MacBook Pro.
Regards,

Apple if you can learn their operating system. If not, then I've had only minor problems with my Dell.
