Because he is actively investigating the possibility of selling his oil in euros. Just like Saddam did and iran are now doing.
Apart from this he doesn't bow to big business and actually wants to improve the welfare of the poor in his country.
That is corrupt in the eyes of the US. Personally I think the guy should be elected as the next Pope or maybe promoted to Gods third in command.

Socializing the country, but in all actuality he is making life better for Venezuela's poor. 19 cent a gallon gas for one thing, sometimes wish I had a president that cared for our people. .
