I feel the reason a girl is looked down upon for being promiscuous and a guy is not is because sex is obviously much easier for a girl to get. A girl can get sex almost anywhere/anytime, unlike a guy who really has to work for it. It's just something that's easier for a certain gender and not another. It's the equivalent of calling a guy "tough" or "macho" for beating up a girl. Most guys can beat up most girls, does that make them tough? It's all a cheapshot for respective genders.
Do you agree?

By "anytime and anywhere" I don't mean it that much in the literal sense, but trust me, even as many unattractive girls out there, there are just as many horny guys willing to have sex with them. It's not that girl will literally just like "rape" a guy, but indirectly (or directly) give them leads to having sex with them.

i feel the reason is not because of the fact that women can "get sex almost anywhere/anytime". Men can get it just as easily. That's not necessarily to do with the sex you are. There are many double standards in many aspects of life and discrimination due to the sex you are. Being looked down upon for being promiscuous is yet another. Perhaps it is to do the fact that people feel the woman is being careless as there are greater risks to women than men that occur due to being promiscuous. Its just labelling people. as you said. Just because you call a person something...that doesn't mean they are that. Its a case of society being prejudice

I think that is a huge part of it.
There is some thought that society values virginity
to keep bloodlines purer - that is, so some father
doesn't end up supporting someone who isn't his
kid.
Its not too surprising that society has has had
pretty simple definitions of what a woman was
supposed to be in the past - because if she
wasn't reproducing, well, the society wasn't
growing. Women reproduce. Men provide
government, housing, protein, etc. Clearly that
is a vast oversimplification, and clearly it is
less true than it has been - but morality
changes slowly.
With the advent of cheap accessible birth control,
the driving factors change, but it will take a long
time for society to catch up to that.

The double standard existed for many years due to the fact that women get pregnant and men don't. Since guys don't get pregnant, they could far more easily deny it whereas a woman who had a baby couldn't. That is now changing, though, due to the availability of paternity testing. And a guy does not prove anything by beating anybody up other than the fact that it labels him as a violent psycho. Get a change of mindset, and soon.

The reason for the double standard is rooted in the fact that in western society (and most others) women have been historically viewed as property of men.
The real question though is why would anyone be looked down upon by someone else for behavior that does not involve the person passing judgment. The answer of course is religion and its empowerment/enabling of severely insecure men.

I agree that there is definitely an unfair double standard in sex between men and women.
The sadder fact is that a woman will be the first one to point a finger at another woman for being "easy".

Could not disagree more.
I'm not socially "attractive." I couldn't get a prom date. I was rarely asked out. I couldn't have gotten laid on a whim.
I know some very attractive men that women would get naked for with very little convincing.
The double standard is simply because women can get pregnant.
OK, well, I actually believe it is more complicated than that, but I don't have time for my normal eight page long answer. :)

i sure do not agree that its easier for a girl to get and not a guy... requires WORK??? unless its agreed to upon both parties, i think its called rape... sex should be something between 2, and not anything else....
by the way, when i was growing up, the girls who got it anyplace and anytime were known as sluts, and now known as prostitutes............

that's because of fact women get pregnant and adult adult males do no longer. adult adult males are frightened of being landed with helping a newborn that's no longer theirs. I used to think of this variety of innovations-set grew to become into extremely passe certainly, I in no way encountered it while i grew to become into youthful, interior the 70s, yet we seem to stay in a much extra prudish age now. i think of to a undeniable quantity this innovations-set will probable constantly exist because of fact women will proceed to be th eones who've the toddlers. yet somewhat there is not any might desire to pay any interest to what individuals think of. in case you reside in a fashionable western society, there at the instant are not any legal consequences to having intercourse with as many adult adult males as you like, and positively the only element is to no longer concern approximately what individuals think of.

Guys beating up girls does not make them tough. They are extremely sissy and sad if they beat up girls because girls are easy targets.
