Universal has a meal deal plan that is $19.99 for one park and $24.99 for both parks per day. They both are good for lunch and dinner at select restaraunts throughout the parks. They include an entree and a desert and the best part is that you can get as many entrees or deserts per day as you want, so you can technically share the meal deal with another person and split the cost. You can add a free refills sippy cup to the deal for 8.99. The only thing you would have to buy seperately is breakfast and you could pack some pop tarts/nutrigrain bars for that. The meal deal is cool in the fact that if you buy the multi park deal you can get dinner at select restaraunts in Citywalk as well. Get all the info you need here at the link below.
If you decide to not get the meal deal then plan on spending at least 10 dollars a meal with your drink. keep in mind that this is a minimum and it will get more expensive the nicer the place and a small soda will cost you $2.50 and a bottle of water is $2.75. Have Fun!

On City Walk there is everything from fast food to fine dining. Inside the parks (Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure) expect typical theme park overpriced food, snacks and beverages. There are lots of the usual chain restaurants around the hotels in the area. The grocery stores aren't nearby so you may not be able to get snacks and such except at convenience stores.
City Walk is just outside the main entrances to both parks.
If you eat at low to moderately priced restaurants (as school groups usually do) you'll need $30-40 or more per day for meals. You'll probably want to bring more money for souvenirs, snacks and other stuff.

If they make you eat at one of the restaurants in the park, expect at least $10. We ate at 2 last year (one that looks like a tree in IOA and the 50s diner in Universal) and got prolly the cheapest thing and it was about $10-11 each with drink. And it tasted terrible! Try to talk them into going to the restaurants on CityWalk or back on I-Drive. Hard Rock, NBA City, Nascar, and the World's Largest McDonald's PlayPlace is on I-Drive and those restaurants will have the same price or cheaper but will taste so much better! Good luck
