try download "Chinese Star" (Zhong Wen Zi Xing) or "Nstar" (Nan Ji Xing) those 2 software allow you to type and read chinese.

I agree. On a PC ....Chinese star is by far the best application that i know. If you want it all built it you can go on language settings of XP and change to accept pinyin and it will automatically turn it into characters (most people prefer chinese star though). On a mac just chage the language settings where the country flag is.
