Rock in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's was popular than in the 90's rap and hip hop became more popular. Now I listen to some new rock and it isn't half bad. Do you think Rock is becoming more popular?
I think my favorite decade of Rock is the 80's but that is when I grew up.

There are many in the music industry who will disagree with you. Many people believe it was the 80's that killed good R& R music.... thanks to the MTV. I smile everytime I hear Dire Straits sing that song on the radio and think about what it means. But I do hear some good new rock... technonolgy and superior mixing helps it considerably. But who can offer up a guitar run like Hendrix , Gibbons, StevieRay Vaughn, or Townsend ??? Can't think of anyone new on the scene .... well, Henry from Los Lonely Boys is coming along nicely.

I think rock is making a comeback in teh form of Indie rock but not in other genres of rock. The new punk is horrible and teh new metal sounds like they try to hard to be metallica. The only hope for rock is acually in great underground progressive bands (ie. Porcupine Tree, Opeth) but I don't think rock will ever be as popular or good again.

I never knew Rock and Roll went away.
The 70's was the best decade for rock

yes, i really hope so! i love rock music! i do hear a lot of rock on the hit music stations now, too. rap needs to go. maybe i should have been born in the 80's so i wouldn't have to listen to rap. (yuck! i hate rap!)

I do think rock is redeeming itself. I wish rap would be banned from this Earth. No one's ears deserve to bleed like that.
