I've been to bars/clubs, but not a happy hour before. From what I know, there are reduced prices. I'm thinking of going to a happy hour with my coworkers sometime next month, so what should I expect? I'm assuming theres going to be drinking, but will there be dancing as well? This is going to be a very casual meeting, so what should I come to expect? Could some of you share your experiences please, that would be much appreciated.

Usually drinks, appetizers and conversation. Happy hour drink and appetizer prices are usually lower. Conversation starts work related and then centers around personal interests (entertainment, sports, etc). Because it is people you work with, be careful about how much you drink and what personal info you divulge.

Don't be a stiff. Go to the event with no preconceptions. Happy Hour is exactly that... Be Happy. Whatever that means to you just do it. Have fun and don't be sensitive about what people say or talk about afterwards. Keep the workplace out of Happy Hour. Have fun.

When you go back to work focus on work and do not gossip. Keep Happy Hour out of the workplace.

Enjoy yourself and don't be a stiff!!!

hmmmmmm

I think some mild drunkenness and silliness, if your job is not that serious and your coworkers are nice and not backstabbing types. If the pay high, watch what you say. If the pay is very low, then maybe some dancing and say anything you want.

I used to go to one in College, it very fun, 25cent mixed drinks and video games mostly.

there will be drinking of course, which will most definitely lead to gossiping and possibly embarassing yourself.

So if you don't want to get caught up in the gossip circle, I suggest drinking something that won't make you drunk and avoid temptation.
