Because I'm trying to point out that todays SOUTHERN CONSERVATIVE Republican Party has nothing to do with Lincoln's, Theodore Roosevelt's, and Nelson Rockefeller's RADICAL / PROGRESSIVE / LIBERAL Party of the NORTHEAST. These people were not conservatives. And there is nothing liberal about klan members.

Today's Republicans defend the confederate flag in the South from liberal groups like NAACP. They rant against the ACLU who fought for civil rights in the 60s. And they got the klan campaiging for them.

Some cons have their history completely backwards.

Is it because you are a liberal jelly-head who wants to generalize all Republicans that live south of the Mason Dixon line as RACISTS. Yes we got that you weren't being that cleaver.

Robert Byrd former KKK leader, The Republican senate forcing the civil rights bill despite the filibustering attempts by Al Gore Sr and Mr. Byrd. FDR refusing to sign a anti lynching law (it was eventually passed by a republican senate with the help of his wife). The demo crates even ran Geo. Wallace a devout segregationist as a presidential candidate it must of been a proud moment for Dem's to see him on the front steps of the university of Alabama saying segregation now segregation forever. Martin Luther King campaigned for several southern republican senators and governors. Judge people by their actions not their words

Yes, evil, backward people deserted the Democratic Party completely after Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. When they failed to elect their own candidate in 1968, they had no other choice but to join the Republican Party (this party had been off limits since Lincoln burned the South in 1864). This mass defection completely changed the character of the Republican Party. It has been the party of hate since 1972.

Here's the answer: The last good Republican candidate, worth a salt, who has not been disgraced, was Barry Goldwater. After losing to Johnson, he never ran for president again. He was a real Republican.

The next best candidate was Richard M. Nixon. But we know what happened there. So alot of people hate him.

After that we had Gerald R. Ford. But he got blackballed because he pardoned Nixon. Ford was a good guy and meant well.

The rest of 'em are all religious zealots or back the extreme Christian agenda and have lost touch with the ordinary people they are sworn to protect and defend. Just look at Reagan going forward. The moral majority has forever polluted the Republican Party.

And ... P.S. I haven't seen a good Democratic candidate since John F. Kennedy and I doubt we will ever see another guy like him again. Bobby came close, but we know what happened to him too.

Does that answer your question?

If you libs can burn the American flag and call it free speech(arson is an act,not speech),then us normal Americans can insist that the people in the south have their right to free speech too.

The was comprised by mostly Democrats.

The ACL(screw)U doesn't fight for the rights of law abiding citizins. The fight for the rights of child predators to molest boys, they fight for the rights of ist to conduct acts of , and they fight for the right of ciminals to be able to target more and more unarmed citizins.

Sorry, but you have it backwards.

hey archeangel?

Which party if fielding black and female candidates? Actions speak louder than words.

The old democratic party was conservtive. Then it transformed into the modern liberal one, switching ideals with early reps. KKK are always cons.

The term CONS refers to Ex-Convicts, which the ACLU feels they should all have carpeted suites instead of cells...and every amenity afforded those NOT in prisons.
