ok well I work at a clothing store in a mall and i've been working there since before Christmas. I want to quit but im a little to shy and it's my first job so I really don't know how to do it! I'm friends with most of the people and they always give me the crappy hours? can you please help me! I don't know how to do it or what to say.

Give two weeks notice. Submit a formal letter to your boss stating, "Please accept my resignation effective two weeks from the date of this letter." Do not put any reason down in writing. I'm sure your boss will come ask why you are quitting. Be polite and say that it's just time for you to move on. Never burn your bridges! You may need a reference from this person at a later time.

If the boss is from hades, you should write a letter of resignation and cc HR stating resign under duress and leave the same day.
