The best female singer is Mariah Carey. No one comes close to her vocal range. I would say Whitney Houston comes in second. I can't wait until she makes her comeback.

from my opinion, Beyonce Knowles. she has an amazing voice and she can sing old songs and her own. in her song "Irreplaceable" she goes so high. I am a trained singer and i have been singing all my life and yet i can't even get that high. she is also very talented in other subject like sports and acting. she jogs daily and she has many movies. but let's get back to singing, she won many grammies and she has lots of albums out. when she sings and gets money she doesn't spend it all on personal things; she donates it to important stuff like hospitals and shelters. i look up to her as my personal idol and i think that many other girls should too. so Beyonce is my favorite singer and i think that no one can beat her.

Sandy Denny. People today have no idea of what a great voice sounds like. Back when Sandy began her career, voices were not altered to anywhere near the extent that they are today. Although i guess i should have picked someone that is living.
