i get made fun of and called a nerd cause im really smart and read alot. im a 12 yr old girl and i wonder if theres anyone else about my age that would want to make me feel better and is like me?

then all the real popular ppl call me a les to thats really getting old and they've called me that sice the guy i liked has been going out with a little blounde girl. my dad says that when im older and in highschool it will be different for me i wont get called a nerd and ill be popular and all the popular kids will be the geeks.

Tell them that the nerds are the ones with the power running corporations and making big money. Nerds are the ones doing research at univerites. The one who someday will find a cure for cancer is a nerd.
Nerd are in charge of the world and everyone else is doing what they are told to do.

well, if it makes u feel better, u could add me to your contacts, in yahoo answers (here), but well, don't care about that, i mean just try to be intelligent, not nerd, there is a big difference between being nerd and being intelligent although someones think its the same,being intelligent, its like participate on class, or know all the answers THAT ARE ASKED 2 U, only the ones who are asked, no others, being nerd is like being geeky, the mr/mrs iknoweverything, the one who talks alot and bore others, who answers to a non question, who studies a lot and don't dedicate time 2 other things, i advice u 2 be intelligent, not a nerd

Im 26 yrs old and through all my years of school I was always made fun of b/c I was different. Even the teachers made fun of me. I went to the principal/parents but they never believed me. Make friends with people who are like you. Popularity isn't everything. Most of the kdis that made fun of me turned out to be total losers. If kids are bulleying you I suggest you tell the teacher or your parents. I feel your pain. I was once there. I was made fun of b/c i was fat and I was slow. I had a health conidition that made me that way. Geuss what. Now I have a college edu. a good job and a fiance who loves me and few friends who I cherish. Don't worry about those losers. These are things that eeryone goes through. Remember is anyone bothers you, bullies you please please please tell a teacher or your parents please. Promise me that.
I think your beautiful and brains is a good thing to have. It will bring you places in the future.

that might always seem happy and having a great time at school but ive been there. ... its aweful
im 14- but at 11-12 yrs old i was one of the somewhat "cool" kids and know whatt its like.. im like you more now and its a lot better. they will turn iaround in highschool. good luck =]
or you could always join the drama club @ school.. ive heard they are very accepting. l0l

Yes, there are others just like you in different towns and cities all over. It's just too bad that there aren't more of you. Pay no attention to these mental midgets who tease you. Just hang, in until the near future, because your time has not come yet. You and others like you will be the future business people, managers, teachers professors lawyers etc. Then they will have to come to you and pay money to hear your knowledge.

well im 14 and i get called that a lot but i know im not a nerd so i ignore them and just hang with my friends who although are never called nerds know how i feel and always say something

There are tons of people like you. I was teased a lot in school, too. I was very shy and wouldn't talk to anyone. Everyone thought I was stupid. You say you are smart,so you must realize you have to form you're own self image. Don't let others creat it for you.
