i have them all the time. i'm pretty scared of them too! maybe because we have a severe thunderstorm. AND THE MAN WHO SAYS THE TEST annoys the heck out of me!

The FCC also requires local television stations to run those tests on a weekly and monthly basis

Would you rather the real thing comes along and the system fails and you are in the path of a terrific storm. I don't thing so.
Even during Desert Storm the used to say Scud Alert and we knew in the next 10 minutes if they where going to be hit somewhere. When you heard Scud Launch then you worried. So I equate the two I would rather be sue it worked than not.

Because in some areas, such as tornado alley, those tests can often become the real thing.
