i just heard about that on a morning t.v. news show. a doctor said that if you pop your fingers you will not get arthritis. it's just air being displaced from the joint. and he went on to say, actually that it might be considered beneficial to the joint as it causes the fluids lubricating the joint to flow, etc.
hope that helps.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.
If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.
Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.
And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.
I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.
It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.
Today, I want to do the same for you!

No. "Popping" your fingers is placing pressure on the bubbles of gas that cushion your joints. They rejuvinate easily. The thought that it leads to arthritis is a wives tale.

I believe that it's an old wives tale. The popping sound you hear when you crack your knuckles is really air trapped in the joint (which is why it feels better when you do it) But, I know plenty of people who do it who are old and don't have arthritis.

i do that too. the sound you hear is tiny bubbles in the fluid between the finger joints bursting from pressure. arthritis is pretty much an autoimmune disease having an immune system cause, so the answer is no
