can you get pregnant on the depo shot? i had my first dose 2/28 and i have been bleeding lightly since 3/15. can i be pregnant? i feel like throwing up all the time and when i eat something i want to throw up but it wont come out. i had sex 24 hrs after i had the shot and many times after that with no protection... help??? has this happend to you? should i go get tested??

The only 100% effective method of birth control is abstinence, so yes you can get pregnant on the depo shot.
Depo really screws with most women's body, so it may just be your body getting used to it.
I would talk to the doctor about what is going on with you and possibly get a pregnancy test.
Personally I would never ever take the depo shot again. I was on it for four years and am so glad I'm off of it.

I,m not in the health profession but I would think any time you have something as important or out of the normal absolutely get checked out very soon...You just started taking something new to your body and we all react differently to every drug in the world...yours could be reacting to the drug...only the medical field is qualified to truley answer your questions get help....my daughter has taken the shot for well over 10 years with no problems and no pregnancies....i do believe that it is one of the highest method's against pregnanies that there is available...on the market....but you need to find out what is going on with you. Go get tested, and, if you AREN'T preggers, then go to your gyno and talk to him/her. And YES, you can get pregnant while on that shot.. the only 100% method of birth control is, of course, the one most sexually active people would rather not think of, abstinence, ie, don't do it, if ya don't want to be called momma..

no you can't get pregnant on depo if you waited to have sex two weeks after your first injection. During the first two weeks you should use condoms, cause it's not fully in your system yet.
