The Celeron D isn't the best, but if can keep up with a newer video card, it will increase the game fps greatly. Most games are NOT cpu dependent, instead, they need the VIDEO card to be the fastest component. Like these charts prove:
http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html
http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html
The cpu can add some fps, but not as much as a video card. The 6200 TC you're thinking about is on the bottem of the video charts.
The optimal system is a AMD 3500+ or better, 2gb ram memory, and the best video card you can afford.

No,for high performance of todays games,3 things are essential
1.A high performance processor like Intel Core Duo or AMD Turion.
2.High capacity of video card or Graphics card(whichever is applicable) atleast 32MB.Nowadays there are graphics card with a capacity of 256MB.
3.RAM of atleast 512MB for latest 3D games.
Your problem seems like the processor can't handle it.Try improving your Graphics card and RAM first before upgrading a new processor. Also read the game specifications and requirements before installing the game. It'll help.My suggestion is try to change the processor, (as Celeron D is somewhat outdated)if you want your computer as a gaming machine.

Your issue may involve one or more of the three main components of your PC: Processor. Memory. Graphics card.
Celeron D--which hasn't been out that long--today is long outdated. The Intel Duo Core 2 processor that's the rage is powerfully fast and in step w/ today's ever evolving techonology.....for now.
Memory: It went from 64 to 256......now it's over 500--and more--megs of memory needed to help today's graphics / sound cards carry the larger demand for "streaming video".
Graphics Card: By admission, not my forte. Rule of thumb: it's hot if it just came out....there are TV channels soley focused on video gaming: I'd check them out for more information. However, if your PC is over 2 years old, your graphics card probably too, is outdated.
You can easily replace any one or more of these three components---but why would you? The price paid for individual PC components, when added all up, comes way too close to the price of a new PC.
Which probably comes to a good idea to go out and buy a new PC and enjoy your gaming experience.

Both would help! Intel Celeron D Processors aren't the best - go for a Core2Duo with an Nvidia 8800.

Celeron's are pretty bad, but it should still be able to play movies. They're not good at multi-tasking, you need to close out all of your other programs. But, in the future stay away from Intel Celeron and AMD Sempron.
