trailer be harmful to the car?

I am toying with the idea. I would like to pull a tiny trailer for 1 gasoline push mower and a few miscellaneous small, lightweight items. The rear bumper is fiberglass or plastic, something like that. Terrible idea?

A camry having been designed as a passenger vehicle would not be an ideal choice to pull a trailer...even though
you could do so by properly mounting the hitch and never ever overloading the trailer... the issue here would be the danger involved by the light rear end of your car being pushed by a trailer and misc. items that are sure to add up to several hundred pounds including the weight of the trailer... the rear brakes of your car are proportioned to handling a passenger load and not a force pushing the rear of the car...

1992-1996 Camrys are the best Camrys ever built IMO. I have never been excited about the styling even when they are new, but ask any mechanic and they will probably tell you the same. the build quality is even better than the newest ones and the engines are amazing. The 2.2 liter 4 cylinder engine is easily one of the best engines ever built and the 3.0 liter V6 is easily one of the smoothest and is darn near as reliable. Like the previous answer said, have the car inspected before buying, but it's hard to fault these cars. The one you're looking at has very low miles for the year. Keep it maintained and you should be able to get double that easily and with very little (if any) problems. Price might seem a little steep to some, but even at $2200, you'll easily get more than your moneys worth out of it. Update: you're going to have a problem choosing best answer, becaus all of these answers are good answers. However, I think Holey Mufflers answer really gets down to what to look for so I gave him thumbs up.

a trailer hitch fastens to the rear cross frame under the rear of the car. If your Camry can't tow a load as you described , you shouldn't put passengers in it either

It's polyurethane, and you would have to find some one to weld in a custom mount to frame. If you do be careful not to add to much weight,It could cause problems..such as(overheating-transmission stress)these cars have little low end power.
