Emo = emotional. Subsequently, these are people who have given up on life and insist on being outcasts in society. However, in their attempt at being non-conformist, they all conform to look like each other. Thus, they aren't really all that special, at least as much as they think they are. Their motto is "The world is full of pain, pain and darkness."

I sorta get the impression that they're teenage boys who wear makeup and make out with other boys.. but aren't gay. And they're depressed and cut themselves, and apparently this is very cool.

emo is short for emotional. depressed alot, cut themselves, listen to lots of rock, and hate their life. my friend told me this.
