When the concepts are so similar? Or is he just waiting to roll over for soccer like he did when NASCAR (what happened to the banjo riff?) paid him off?

This isn't really a very good question. First off the two sports really aren't very similar. There is no fighting in Soccer, Hockey moves MUCH faster, and there isn't the CONSTANT stopping of the game for the ball going out of bounds.

NASCAR is the fastest growing sport as far as the number of spectators. Soccer doesn't seem to have the ability to get moving.

I'm in the same boat as Rome. I love hockey and can not stand soccer.
My reasoning for it are not the fights but the speed of the game.
I can watch or play a whole game with no issues. However, the slow pace of soccer puts me to sleep kinda like golf.
The closeness of the fans to the sport the rich history of hockey. And the ability to keep the sport in modern times. Is all appealing of the sport.
