Contrary to popular belief, none of these animals are actually easy to take care of. Turtles for example: can live anywhere from 20-40 years depending on the breed.
The habitats for these animals also need to be precise when it comes to humidity and temperature. Another thing to keep in mind, is that turtles/reptiles in general also need veterinary care at times.
If you're not worried about live feeding etc.. and are willing to make the financial commitment, as well as the lifelong one for any of these pets - then I say go for it.
If you're not: You may be better off getting something like a Betta fish/hamster/etc.. which are relatively low cost and have cheaper upkeep.
(For example: A turtle/lizard can run around in the $300 range+ to start)
I posted a link with some information about the care/upkeep of different types of reptiles below.
~Hope this helps!

i would chose a turtle because they r easy to take care of
if u get a land one u may have to clean the tank but a water one all u need to do is get a filter to clean the water and have a place for him to land when he doesn't want water
i have a turtle he is easy to take care off all u have to do is feed him turtle pellets u get at wal-mart . I also have a lizard and a frog they both need live food and you have to usually go to a pet store to get that. You must clean out the lizards tank and they r hard to catch and frogs may get away easily. IF u get a turtle u might want to clean him like once a month but that is still preaty and a water turles dont get that big

Personally, I would reccommend a turtle. I currently have two red-eared sliders, and they are great pets. But, it is a lot of work to clean out the tank, so if you are strained on time, a turtle would not be a good choice. Frogs also require a lot of maintenence, so a lizard would be a good choice. But, if you still cannot decide, ask for a reccommendation from a reptle-owning friend or relative, and they can probably give you the best decision based on your everyday life and willingness to get a reptile.

It all depends on the type your getting. I would go with the turtle. Lizards eat alot starting them will be very costly cage, food daily, lights, heaters. Frogs are OK but can be costly as well depending on the type. Turtles are pretty cheap low maintenance good pets.

All of them are pretty high maintenence... Turtles require the most cleaning. Lizards eat live crickets and worms [sometimes baby mice] so thats kinda gross unless you dont mind doing that. Frogs are a pain when you clean their tank... mine got lost all the time. If I had to choose I would pick the turtle because Im not to fond of feeding live insects... bleh.

You didn't mention snakes. My son has one and she is very low maintenance. She eats mice twice a week. I buy them frozen in bulk. Water turtles are a bit of work because you have to keep their tanks immaculate. The same applies to frogs. Lizards are cool, but you will be forever heading to Petsmart for live crickets.

I'd say lizard. Leopard geckos are cute they get between 8 to 10 inches in length. They are easy to care for and can be picked up and played with.

depends on what kind of a turtle land or water? i have two water turtles that i love dearly but they can be a hassle sometimes cleaning the tank/pond. lizards and frogs you will need live crickets as i believe they dont like dead food. this also depends on what type you get. good luck!!

go with a lizard, they are really cool. I work with them for a living and i love them. Some can be agressive so before you get one have whoever is selling it to you handle it so you can see what its temperment is. My personal favorite is the African Fat-tailed gecko, which stays relatively small, and the savannah monitor lizard, which can get up to 3-4 feet long.

I would suggest a bearded dragon for your first! They are wonderful! They are a bit hyper when young.. but are so mellow when they are older! They are not at all aggressive... and they are really cool! You can walk around with them on your shoulder! They can run around outside in warm temperatures!! My kids (including my 1 year old) hold him.. I will change my avatar to him so you can see him!
