Allowing people to treat me less than who I really was. Wasting my time loving women who was only using me. And wasting more time being wounded, instead of going on with my life. Not taking opportunities that would have taken me to different, if not better places. And not recognising the good ones. Feeling flattered by insincere people. And not recognising the ones who were. Not learning how to dance, or have a positive social life. Not keeping contact with old friends. Filling my life with things I've done, instead of people I've done things with. Not being accessible to those who might have been. And being a bump in the woods for twenty years figuring it out.

alcoholism, possibly the part I regret the most is all the ground lost during those years, yet there also exists considerable resentment and such a long list of negative things that I'm not getting into it further because it's not productive, but what I learned from it is considerable, things such as:

There are things in this universe that are constant, and more powerful than us, for which there exists no solution or cure (except perhaps abstinence), some things that no matter how far we evolve will never be completely understood, fixed, or cured.

There are trials in life that can befall any one of us and they can come at us with such force and persistence that we can not find the solution thou to everyone else it's obvious lol. Trials so difficult they can cost us our lives, trials that if survived teach us a whole new level of respect and a fresher outlook towards humanity and failure in itself, and an understanding that we're no better than the next person to be sure.

Then there is the bs, thou I'm not sure you need alcoholism to realize this, but there are just some things that will always be like that, no matter what.

As for wishes, I wish I had never started drinking, but I quit 7 or so years ago and I'm done with it, so it is ok.

I regret not taking the time to talk to this new kid in high school years ago. I was very friendly and always talked to the new kids in school, and many times became friends with them. Then one semester we had a new guy come to school and I would pass him in the halls all the time but I never stopped to say hi and introduce myself. A couple weeks into the semester he committed suicide. When I read his obituary I found out that he was the male equivalent of me. We were in exactly the same clubs, we both participated and earned highest awards in scouts, our hobbies were the same, and we had the same family situation, etc. I know this doesn't mean that we would have been friends, but I think we would have understood each other. And though I don't blame myself for his death, I will always regret not talking to him. Everyone has the power to change someone else's life, and the smallest action can have huge effects.

I do not regret any of the things I have done in my life, whether they were right or wrong...I learned from my mistakes.

My only regrets are all the things I have NOT done and all the experiences I did not live, all the friendships I did not form, all the times I did not say "I love you" or "I'm sorry", all the opportunities I let slip away. These chances are now gone forever. They will never come back. I can never go back.

My biggest regret is that i didn't finish college. I was partying alot and didn't care about school. Now I have a 6 year old and I hope that she will stay in school and succeed in life. I always wonder what I will be right now and what would become of me now if I did have a higher education. This is my life now. I have a good paying job and less stressfull, well I didn't do too bad.

Not having enough money to retain custody of my children in an extremely ugly divorce. If I could do it over again; I would have left the state with them and never looked back! They're father was working, I wasn't, so the state gave him custody.
I was there, 24-7, up until they were 6,7 & 10. They're father would NOT stop harassing me (about everything) so I had to leave. They're all adults now; 2 with families of their own. My grand daughters are now reaching the ages that I lost with my own. I am always there for them and will continue so I won't lose those extremely important years again.

Spending so much of my life not understanding that every experience I have is for my benefit. Either for my pleasure or as a lesson for my learning. Now that I understand that I have no more regrets. I used to live in Regretville, but no more.

i regret that i was such a Knob with my first wife and her two children. I learned that when yo think someone is being a jerk, it is more often YOU who are the jerk. I can't change the past, but I have made very good use of this excruciating lesson in the way I relate to everyone.

I dearly regret the lack of courage I displayed in some pivotal moments. the hardest part has been to forgive myself. but know, I never back down, and always accept responsibility for my own conduct. why did I have to be 30 before I figured that out?

what i regret most is losing the one i love. i feel that without love life is pointless. i learned true joy from having it and true pain from losing it. there is nothing i wish for other than love
