Well you know the Black community would be less in numbers mirroring the Chinese immigrants that eventually became American citizens.

The plantation owners would have had to hire their staff instead of purchasing them, there would definitly be less aggressive behavior between the two races and many of the rights the nation as a whole had to concede were basic human rights and should be given to all persons of different nationalities, but not before much demonstrations and unrest in the dominently Black neighborhoods of America and marches for rights and so on.

You can't erase what is and what happened, the trade of people was accepted because they could not speak english french or portuguese or any then known language therefore they must be animals therfore have no rights under the then established government. You should rent (library) the movie Roots there is the movie and the series. It depicts life during the times of slavery very well.

Hell yeah. Every instance of race relations in America is heavily influenced by slavery. I think if black people had come to America under different circumstances, racism would still be an issue, but not as big as it is now.

I hate when people try to act as if it's not an issue any more. But, I've only heard white people say that. They say that because they've never had to walk a mile or even an inch in a black man's skin.

I'm not saying that everyone in America has issues with race, but what I am saying is that most do.

the word is enslaved because black people didn't make the choice to be human chattel. But I agree with a few of the answers--with America being the great country that it is with many cultures providing this Super Power the strength and diligence of a great nation---black people added to the makeup and foundation just like the Irish, Jews, Latinos&Hispanics, Native Americans (especially these beautiful people), British, French, Spainards, Armenians, Asians, etc...the list can go on. I am glad that my mom made me read and allowed me to visit different cultural museums so that I could get a first hand view about the world. We are moving towards a global world--which in my opinion is how it should be. With technology steadily expanding on a constant basis--those of us who live in a microcism better set a drift on memory...because the winds of change are upon us--people are getting educated and people are getting with 'it'.

there would still be slaves if slavery hadn't existed in America..what most people don't know or realise is that slavery still exists in Africa today.. In Ghana children are sold for slave labour every day, in the Sudan muslims regularly raid christian settlements for slaves, In Somalia slavery is still tolerated. and in the Congo the pygmys still live in fear because the larger africans still hunt them for food ( warlords in the conflict areas still believe an old legend that if you eat a pygmy , you become an unbeatable warrior). These facts are not made up, look them up for yourselves. Slavery was not a just a "white" thing. The Africans who ended up over here were captured and sold by neighbouring tribes to arabic slave traders who in turn sold them to the Americans.the " whites" didn't capture and enslave them, they were already slaves in africa.. The history is there for those with eyes to see.

Afircan Americans would have all the rights that were taken away by slavery more early. The world would be a more equal place, and racism would be non-exsistant. Just my opinion.

Slavery didn't exit - it was abolished. But I imagine people in the South and Washington DC would still have slaves.

My guess would be that America today would still have bigitry problems because of all the other races that have come to our shores. I feel sorry for the blacks that fall on pity but if anyone really wants to get ahead he doesn't haft to behave lke they do on Jerry Springer

There would possibly be no racism, since it originated from the slave trade. Or it would exist in a different form. Rock N Roll may have been no-existent as well. And R&B.

We would probably be a stronger nation because we wouldn't have as much anger and hate among our own people.
