It's flavored sugar crystals that get heated and spun like web. Think about elmers glue. Have you ever put a drop on your fingers and then stretched it until it spiderwebbed in your hand? Same priniciple... Tastes awesome though doesn't it?

Unfortunately no. If it were, people would eat cotton candy more often. It is spun sugar, consisting of food coloring and yes, some air particles. For me, it's more fun to watch them make it!
