I feel that Japan is so successful because when dealt a blow that would have driven any other country to dig themselves into a self-pitying pit of depression, they gutted out the most incredible, dare I say miraculous turn around in the history of this earth. Their defeat in WWII left the country, their military, their government, and almost every aspect of life in shambles. But they came together, found strength in community, and within 50 years became the second most powerful country in the world, economically speaking. All this while still maintaining a strong sense of culture and tradition. They take that tenacity with them and apply it in everything they do for their country.
If you are going to admire the Japanese people for something, you gotta admire them for at least that.

they work their *** off! Putting in effort starts young, with extensive schooling. The culture is based around certain principles that lend toward increased economic success. Which will be more successful: a large country where people are lazy and stuff their faces with fast food and kids are constantly dropping out of school...OR.. a smaller country where people are constantly active and striving to learn and improve themselves and kids tend not to drop out of school? A real no-brainer.

Why America couldn't help and re-built Vietnam, Iraq, and Afgan? How about Israel? How about mid-east issues?
America has to face these facts.
This is the fact. Japan is different.
Leave Japan alone.
