take steroids... i'm just kidding. You should eat a healthy diet, and make sure you build up on carbs before you run, they give you energy to make it through the run, pasta is an excellent source of that. Make sure you keep hydrated and drink lots of water, and what helps me is take something to help keep your mind off of being tired like maybe an ipod or mp3 to listen to, it really helps.

Basically stamina and strength is in-built in a person.
But to increase from what ever a person is blessed with one can take [kollu] this is nothing but what they give to horse. I am not joking i took that while i practised which was prescribed by my uncle. I was an athlete and he a boxer.
The procedure to take; initially take four to five spoons and soak the kollu in drinking water after washing, the previous night, then boil the kollu adding 100 or 200 ml of water, later filter the water and drink. This gives additional strength.

To increase your stamina thats easy. Just run. Run long distances and keep running untill you can run 4 to 5 miles consistantly. And also run sprints to increase your speed. When you run, run every other day to give your muscles to heal. So it should look like this run day, strength day, run day, strength day and so on. Besure to take at least one day off a week where you do nothing to give your whole body a chance to heal.
Now when you talk about strength are you talking about strenth for your legs, or all around? If you talking about for your legs you should be doing squats and calf presses.

Practice, practice and more practice.

Then it'll become your habit and you'r body will automatically start doing things to gain strength/stamina. This means you'll feel more hungry and eat and digest. Your respiration will settle for better breathing. Even the time you'll rest/sleep will be utilised fully by the body.

You need to be both flexible and have good stamina to be a champ on court.

This means:

- regular jogging sessions
- practice jumping regularly
- practice your game with friends daily if possible
- consider doing light weight training
- play, play, play

Agility is a key attribute that you need for success in basketball.

But what can you do to get more agile on the basketball court?

Well, you should do a combination of sprint training and agility training.

One of the best ways to develop speed over a short distance is with sprinting in the gym, or any marked area.

Start from still at the closest line to you, sprint to the next closest line, touch the ground, turn and sprint back. Then repeat for the next line, moving further and further away until you have reached all lines.

This will help your game develop no end!

How To Increase Your Basketball Jump

One of the key skills that you need in basketball is to jump high. This could be in order to intercept the ball, catch a pass or of course - to slam dunk!

The best way to build your muscles for jumping is with this simple exercise.

Stand against a wall or solid object (with no ceiling - e.g. outdoors) and bend knees slightly. Then jump up as high as you can and touch the high point you reach on the fence or wall.

Then repeat several times, each time trying to get higher. Do this ten times a day for a few weeks, and the muscles will get stronger and you will be able to leap and jump higher.

How To Improve On Court Mobility

One of the best ways it go down the local park with a friend and a tennis ball. Get them to throw a tennis ball to different areas of a court shaped area, and either try to intercept the ball in the air, or run down the ball and return it to your friend as quick as possible.

Repeat this twenty times, and about 3 times a week in total. You will soon build up explosive speed, and flexibility, and impress your team by being everywhere on court!

---------------
How To Dunk

The key to dunking is to be tall, or tall enough with a good jump.

The best exercise to get spring and explosion in your legs is to crouch by a wall, and jump as high as you can with your legs. Mark the high point of your jump with a piece of chalk, and repeat ten times and mark your highest.

Do the exact same exercise several times a week. After a couple of weeks your high point will improve as your muscles get more used to the movement, and this spring will be invaluable in all aspects of your on court movement.
