It's funny: you take only 2 shots each game in the first half, and work hard to get the ball to your teammates, only to have them continually miss wide-open shots, and your team ends up losing 7-8 games in a row, and start plummeting out of the playoff race.

So, YOUR COACH INSTRUCTS YOU to take matters into your own hands, take and hit the shots your teammates miss, and give them the ball in situations (dunks, layups) that they can't miss. Your team ends up winning 4 in a row.......and people criticize you as being a ballhog.

There's logic for ya.

well..'leading the team' could mean lots of thins. It could mean that no one else ever gets an assist and that someone who avg's 3 assts per game could be the 'leader' in assists on the team. However, if the person who leads the team in assists gets more like 6-8 assts per game, then this is a higher number and more legit. The guy who leads his team in assts but gets around 3-4 per game could be a ball hog...the guy who gets 6-8 and leads his team is probably not a ball hog.

Only if the only reason he leads in assists is because he doesn't pass the ball enough for other players to get assists, but if your refering to Kobe i don't think he's a ball hog, he's just good as hell and avreges almost 6 assists per game so i don't think you can call him a ball hog.

Depends, if he's the only one who gets the ball down the floor and his team mates have lower point totals then him then yeah.

Kobe gets the ball every time down the floor but gets 5.5 assists per game and 30.8 points per game

Him having the most assists per game on his team only means his team mates never get the ball and he gets it every time down the floor but never passes.

Nonsense! assist means they pass alot. The person they pass to makes the shot. Ballhogs are people who don't share alot are like obe. assist leaders are like steve nash. They share.

When you're a ball hogger, I don't think you like passing the ball or giving a chance to your teammates to score. If a player is a ball hogger, he tends to own the basketball. I think ball hoggers like changing word "TEAM" into just "I", lol!
