I was curious as to where I could discover very extensive and knowledgeable websites pertaining to historical events and people (BESIDES WIKIPEDIA, please). Is there a site that strictly deals with history in general?
Also, I was curious as to what is a very good source for a general understanding of ancient history, but goes into detail about certain civilizations such as: Greece, Egyptian, Persian, etc.??

Ward's Book of Days provides an observation on each of the days of the year. It is a good site. I like it.
