...What is the cause for that?

sometimes you can get lonely because you are missing yourself and not even realize it. You can be alienated from yourself, you need to find yourself again and accept yourself. Only you are ultimately responsible for your own happiness and your life. Recognize that lonliness is just a feeling, and you can learn from it. Just allow yourself to feel it, maybe describe it, and you might find out where its coming from. Just stay still, pay attention to your breathing and to emotions that arise.
It can also mean of course that you need someone to talk to, because you feel isolated. Try to share your feelings and try to connest with other people because humans are social creatures, they need contact with others or they simply wont survive.
Or you may be missing guidance in your life and feel an empty void, of something you are missing that is not being filled. You can feel lonely because you think no one understands what you are feeling and what you want.

Basically we are pack animals. If you look at evolution, as monkeys live in a pack, so did the cavemen. And, ultimately we should too, but the way we lead our lives is all too singular.

People go about their day to day lives, and very rarely consider anyone outside of their circle of family and friends. How many of your neighbours do you know? If everyone took a little more time looking out for people in their street, it would rub off on them, and have a ripple effect. In time people would start caring about everyone around them, not just those that they know.

I guess it's unlikely to happen, but it's a nice thought I think. And, perhaps, loneliness would become a thing of the past.

I reckon it's evolutionary. We need to exist in groups, mainly because there's a bigger chance of our survival if we've got others to love and support us, also because there's a better chance of finding a fit mate (although I'm not having much luck!). Loneliness is our way of telling ourselves we need to get back into some kind of group.

people get lonely when they feel trapped inside themselves and they feel like nobody cares, or they just need to feel better and the temporary fix of love without love of yourself makes them feel better.

because they are not happy in their own company. If you love yourself fully you will love spending time with yourself, and if you dont why should any one else. rule 1 in life, love yourself
