My 5th (going on 6th) grade sister just watched the movie 'Mean Girls', and she's worried about if she'll be in the "Plastic" clique. I was very popular when I made it to Middle school, but I was a cheerleader, and she hates cheerleading. So I can't give her any advice. I need some help telling her how to become like the Plastics.
P.S. I don't want any comments on how you shouldn't be worried about what group you're in, and all that be yourself crap, I want her to be successful in Middle School, but not be a nerd. But she is smart, so I know she'll get good grades.

Apparently you missed the whole point of the movie, which is that the Plastics are not something to be admired. I have no idea what fantasy world you're living in, but I hope your sister doesn't end up being a shallow idiot like you. She can be popular, get good grades, and be a good person. You don't need to be a self-centered materialistic brat to be popular in school. If she stays true to herself, she'll be successful.

"I want her to be successful in Middle School, but not be a nerd. But she is smart, so I know she'll get good grades. "

What do you define as successful?

Your topic is geared more towards being accepted in a certain clique, not successful in good education, grades, chance for scholarships down the road. Success is brought on by good character, hardworking and morals, not the fashion statement of the day.

Hmmm...high school is sort of different nowadays. Cheerleaders are considered over-acheiving, too-happy nerds. There this new trend called "emo" ... you have to have the right emo hair, the right emo attitude, and the coolest clothes...and of course you have to have flats and leggings and crazy scene hair. Its sort of like punk but a really downplayed, trendy version.
If your sister tries to act like the plastics she will get beat up by the scene kids. The kids that are in the scene, in the know...that go to see their favourite bands play and mosh.

it does sounds shallow but its life. if she doesnt want to be a cheerleader its gonna be kind of hard. does she already have friends in that group or do they not know who she is? basically shecant be a ***** right away, and she needs to become best friends with someone already in that group. she HAS to be not only pretty but hott. and she needs to have things other girls dont. like clothes or bags. depends on her rep aready.

oooh and dont listen to anyone that says emo or punk is in...havent you ever watched laguna beach.

You should really tell her not to worry about it. I went into my last two years of middle school blindly (from private school to public) and survived with great, real friends. Best thing you can do is take her school shopping and help her find outfits that she LOVES and expresses who she is in. If you don't go in fake, you leave happier.

wow thats shallow....you were supposed to learn a lesson from that movie on how cliques dont matter...and its not crap. im in middle school and it really doesnt matter. later in life, if ur in a group like the platics, you'll end up having no friends and attention starved because it wont matter how you look, but your personality traits. my friends and i are all really close, and we all have the looks to be popular, but prefer to have true friends over popularity and crap...

Tell the kid to make everyone else around her feel like sh!t, wear as little clothes as she can get away with, and do absolutely anything the cool kids want her to do.

Btw,
I really think you need to get your priorities straight.
