Horror and sex are always paired with each other because our everyday lives are this way. Sex is life and in this case horror represents death.

You need to read some of the "classic" horror. I highly recomment M.R. James, H.P. Lovecraft, Algernon Blackwood and even perhaps "The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James. If you want something more modern, perhaps Shirley Jackson or the horror (not scifi or fantasy) of Marion Zimmer Bradley or anything at all by Charles Grant. Great horror but no sex for the sake of sex or gore for the sake of gore. GOOD horror, regardless of what Stephen King or Clive Barker say, does NOT depend on gore or sex.

The fear of the unknown and the sin of sex (according to the fundamentalist religious traditions) combine into this mix. Of course if sex was not a sin, or no fear of the unknown is felt then this link would certainly not exist. It's a purely subjective invention and not an objective one.

I assume that you are talking about movies and such. Well sex sells (just look at ads on the tv) and horror sells so put them together and they will sell even more. At least thats what the people who are trying to sell us stuff on the tv and in movies believe. So of course you will see them together alot on entertainment things. It is all about money.

hope ur talkin movies tv media etc ???????????????it sells tickets just like bad news sells papers and watch tv trash sells too reality tv so if i dont watch it i dont buy it wont bother me i can live without it the connection began when the human race was introduced
