I got a monroe piercing on tuesday. Somehow the stud came loose, and I swollowed it on Friday night. It was out for a full day, and then yesturday I went out and bought a new labret to put in it. Now the stem is shorter than the one I had, and I couldnt find a longer one, so i finally get it in, but its so swollon today that the stud part on the outside is sinking into my lip. Is there anything I can do to get the swelling down so it wont do this? i keep having to take my tongue to push it out, but its swollen so much thats almost not even working.

well the piercer put a longer bar in it because he said it would swell for about a week, and he said if he put a shorter one in, it might go into my lip alittle bit. So its normal for it to swollen. Its not that swollen, just enough for the bar to be a bit too small. Ive been cleaning it with antibacterial soap, and doing the sea salt rinses. Ive got ice on it now to see if the swelling will go down alittle bit. I think the biggest part of it being swollen is due to it being out for a day, and then me having to ram the piercing back in it...

well....... first you need to put anti-bacterial stuff on it. rubbing alcohol works too. a lot of the swelling may be caused be a possible infection. so, you should watch out for that. also, if it gets any worse, as far as the swelling goes, you need to take it out.... if you have to take it out, you might wanna try to get it reppierced, and try not to swollow it the next time, ;). but, those are basically your two options. there may be a few more... like, maybe try to leave it out for a day and clean it out, or something like that, but thats basically it....

uh oh

is the replacement you got real gold/silver, because you could be allergic to anything which is not.piercings are generally always done with gold/silver for this reason.

chances are, youve got an infection.

go back to the person who pierced it asap - sseriously, you could end up scarred or get septisemia or anthing!!!

sprry, dont man to scare you - the swelling could just be part of the process, but you should really get a longer bar because you dont want to cut off the blood supply or leave yourself with a dent scar or anything!!

well for starters, neosporin brought my swellin down..if it was me, i would take it out . and to stop the stud from sinking in, u can put sumthin soft and flat b/w the lip and da stud like sum ppl do with a tounge ring ...sumthin like a flat piece of an eraser..hope dat helps. And continue to try and find a longer stem

I have been given my lip peirced the different week and that i couldnt get my ball off the two. I took some needle nostril pliers and that i pushed the bar out so a techniques as i might desire to interior the front then i've got been given a good grip on the bar with the pliers so it wouldnt flow. Then i took some pliers or something with a grip and twisted the ball off. in case you utilize your arms to attempt and twist the ball attempt placing on rubber gloves it supplies u a extra ideal grip. good success
