To clean an Epson Stylus C46 printer head you simply have to go to print and then select 'properties', once done you then select 'maintenance' from here you need to select 'Head Cleaning', you will then need to click start and it will then clean the printer head

The software you get with it has an option to self-clean. It just blasts a bit of ink out basically.
