Why do people leave out their diaries for anyone to read?

People that do that are either really stupid, or just place too much faith in the honesty and morals of other people. I think its ridiculous to write something personal and leave it laying around, where it is very accessable. Granted, it is wrong for someone to just invade someone's pivacy and read their diary, but apparently the person didn't value their personal things enough to put it away... They have a right to be mad about the invasion of privacy, but then, they are idiots, so they kind of deserve it... Whatever.

They really dont leave them out for people to read. They leave them out in the open and possibly sometimes open to see if any body would read them and if they do the person who had the diary takes it as you are not trustworthy.

what's the use of writing a diary if you don't expect other people to read it. they get upset when someone reads it because that's the way society tells them to act when someone reads their diary. if you really don't want other people to read your diary, make an electronic password-protected diary or lock up your diary in a secure place.

Because generally those who are reading it should have had more tact than to pick it up in the first place.

If I left my wallet out on the kitchen counter, would you just take money out of it because I left it there?
