Since Humans are classified as a mammal, in form that all mammals have such urges. Whether they are straight or gay, you will have the attraction and the urge to do what is naturally in us to do. Attraction to whomever it may be that your interested in being with plays the big part of it. Also...it feels great when you have that person you love with all your heart and you can explore each other.

Two people who love and care for one another wanting to consumate their love I think sums up why people have sex quite nicely as well.
Procreation as well for straight couples wanting children would be a good excuse for sex methinks.

Human beings become attracted to each other. A chemical reaction in the brain that hits certain people at certain times. Gay people do it, straight people, too. People get sexual urges that are important, but they are not as vital as breathing or eating.
