And more importantly has the UN ever stopped a rouge nation from ending their nuclear program? Did they stop India, Pakistan, or Israel? Nope. Because the only way to stop a country from getting nukes once they already got what they needed to get started the only way to stop it is with military action like the Israelis did against Saddam's nuke program in the 80s. And since Iran is really only a major threat to Israel then the Israeli air force should just repeat what it did so successfully against Saddam. Right?

It just slows them down a bit.....Iran is going bankrupt no worries they will fall from within.

No. Because the UN has no enforcement powers.

UN sanctions have no more meaning than any other non-binding resulotion proposed by any group. It's just a way of voting to say "we're unhappy and want you to stop".

Obviously not. They assume that all nations are interested in peace. A certain number of Islamic and Communist nations are not interested in peace.
