its my birthday and i was gifted a money order, i went to a check cashing place and they wanted to charge me $50.00 !!! is there any where else i can go to cash it for less?

Usually the big chain supermarkets like Giant, Safeway, Food Lion, and shoppers all have MoneyGram branch in their stores. It will be free to cash because the sender already paid the fee.

My daughter had ran all over Waco trying to cash a money gram money order she finally found a place called CHECK AND GO ON VALLEY MILLS DR. that cashed it for her but Walmart would NOT cash it either would any money gram location

Walmart refuses money orders unless it's from their own branch. They also make a big stink about that stupid stub. Add if it's supposed to be set with it. Everyone charges to cash money orders or wants you to be a member for 1 stupid money order.

The only place where there is no charge is putting it into your bank account or going to a store that issues that type of check. If the check allows transfers to a second party see if a friend will deposit it into their account and give the cash to you. Read the fine print on the check.

walmart has money gram locations. Just walk up to any walmart go to the service counter and fill out the form that simple!!!! Good Luck
