Ignore the negative posers that suggest you are not good enough, and are willing to offer reasons to compromise your job search. You can find a job, and it comes to starting to believe that someone WILL hire you, and then taking action every day to discover who. Restaurants, Fast Food, and Retail Stores hire people for part time work. Could it be you are just sending out resumes and waiting for them to call you for a job? My suggestion is where ever you have been giving out resumes, you follow up with a phone confirming they have received it, asking what the next steps are, and expressing your interest in the job.

Maybe you are trying the wrong places. While a grocery store or restaurant may not be you ultimate career choice, its a good place to get started. When you go in for an interview, dress nice, speak well, make eye contact, and seem happy to be there. The service industry is very good for students and part timers because they offer flexible hours. Any place that you leave a resume of application at, be sure and call them back in a couple days so that they see you want the job. If you just drop it off, then they assume you really don't want the job.
