I have a three year old male cat and I just got a 6 month old male cat. The old cat always seems to lick the little cats butt. This is disgusting since after he is done licking his butt, he will lick all over the little cats fur then his own fur. So when I pick them up, they always stink.
Is this normal??

No lie, I just saw my cats 69! They are so gross, I need to get rid of one and buy a dog. No wonder they stink!

Cats sniff and lick butts to find out what the other cats have been eating. It is leftover from when they were in the wild, and is for survival.

Do they have food in their bowls and water in their bowls...that would be the first thing to check..Newborn kittens cannot pee or poo on their own without their mother's licking them to stimulate that (and then the mother's eat their pee and poo)...so the male cat may be doing something like that..but at 6 months old the kitten should be doing that already?? Is the younger one constipated??

yes its normal my cats do that all the time he feels like he needs to look out for the little one and is just trying to keep him clean
