On Feb 20, 2007 I went to one of the larger computer retailer store in the California. My husband and I walked in and he stood by the computer we wanted to buy, and I went to the counter to get help. There were about three employee behind the counter two were busy and they were working on the opposite side of the counter. The other employee was looking through a book and gossiping to another employee. I stood there for about six minutes and no one acknowledge me about a minute later which was now seven minutes another customer walked up to the counter and was greeted immediately. I then said a loud I was here first, and I would like to get some service. The employee then processed to help the other customer and walked away. I then speak to one of the manager of the store while speaking to the manager. This employee TRIED to physically act me. The manager physical restrained her. I wrote cooperated office about this situation which was a month ago, and I have not heard any thing. Yesterday I called cooperate office and I was told that the situation was handled and their company does not do follow up with the customer because it is an internal matter. I would like to contact a government office of this situation, which office may I contact to report this matter. I think part of it was racially motived. Do you think the EEO would be able to handle something like this or is there another governmental department that may able to help in this situation?

You may also want to consider that they do not get paid that well and also may be in need of a break. Retail is not as easy as it seems and so the employee may just have been tired from a long day or several long days with rude customers. You would be surprised the way some customers treat the employees. There is not much more you can do that you haven't already done. I would just go to a different store.

Most likely, it was NOT racially motivated.

I'm a white male, and I often get deplorable service. I have had the same situation happen to me as happened to you. It's like you are invisible.

Some of these employees act like they are brain damaged, or they are so apathetic, they just don't care. One time, I was in a computer store, and I asked where the tiny, portable MP3 players were, and I showed this young salesman a printed foto of the model I wanted. He seemed like his mind was in a fog, and he told me to go to the computer area.

I responded that the MP3 players certainly would not be there. Just then, his colleague walked by, and asked what we were looking for. This colleague laughed at the other salesman, and said, "Dude, they're right there by your leg!"

Sure enough, we looked down, and they were right there.

If you feel the service was bad, write a letter to the CEO of the company. You can easily find their corporate address online, and in the company profile they always list the main directors of the company.

I think you should let it go, dear. That was rudeness and a mentally challenged employee. Corporate 's answer was accurate. Don't make this an issue in your life. There are worst battles in life, save your energy. Not every battle needs to be important.

The fact is the matter was settled by the company. There is no Gvt. agency to help you in this case. Our Gvt. is screwed up enough without pushing for personal vengeance.

That wasn't bad customer service that was attempted assault. File a police report, that'll get the company's attention.

**and please, ignore the post just before mine. If we ignore this sort of behavior it only continues. Stand up for yourself.
