It is great that you are concerned about a night time routine.
So many women do not bother to wash their face before they go to bed. The biggest excuse I hear is that they just too tired by the time bedtime rolls around. I mention this just to let you know that you do not have to wait until just before you are ready to go to bed, to get your face ready for bed.
It could be done as early as 7PM, as long as you are in for the night, ready to remove your make up etc.
A night time routine is very important. You need to cleanse, tone, nourish & moisturize. How you do that & which type of products you use will depend on your skin type and age.
CLEANSE. . .Removing makeup is ALWAYS a must. If you use a makeup removing cleanser, then there is no reason to rewash your face. Over cleansing is not good. Toning is VERY important. The type of toner you use should match your skin type. Toning helps to remove any residue that resettles in the rinsing. It SHOULD also calm the skin. If your toner is harsh, it will not do your skin any good.
NOURISH. . .We lose so many vitamins from our skin every day. Replenishing them is very important I suggest a hydrating vitamin mist, followed by an alpha/beta hydroxy serum to help prevent a buildup of dead skin cells.
MOISTURIZE. . .moisturizing is the single most important thing we can do for our skin. It gives us 24 hour protection against the elements. The type of moisturizer you use depends on your skin type. . .If you are over 35, I highly suggest an anti-aging night time complex. Also most of us do not even think about this, but the skin around our eyes is much thinner & more delicate than the skin on the rest of our face. It also contains no oil glands, so moisturzing is extremely important. age 34 & under, you should use an eye gel. Age 35 and over you should be using a product that is specifically for older skin. One that will moisturize, tighten, reduce lines & wrinkles, reduce puffiness and correct dark circles.
If you do not have problem skin do not exfoliate every day/night. One to two times a week is plenty (oily skin 3X's a week) Any exfoliator should be mild enough not to burn or scratch any skin layers. If the exfoliator is granular it needs to be soft scrub such as jojoba beads, kaolin, crushed almonds. Not fruit pits which are very hard on the skin. If the exfoliator is not agranular then it should be filled with enzymes which will help remove dead skin cells without burning.
If you need help with the types of products that will work for you, email me.

First of all, kudos to you for taking steps to ensure good healthy skin!!! There's not much makeup can do if you don't have a healthy skin to begin with. And lucky for us, it only takes about 5 minutes every night to ensure great skin. If you use makeup, take a minute to either use make-up removing toilettes or wash your face with a makeup removing cleanser. Take another minute to wash your face with a gentle cleanser (designed for your skin type, i.e. oily, dry, or combination) that will help remove hidden dirt and residues that clog pores and contribute to that nasty zit the next morning. Pat dry your face with a towel. Pour a small amount of an astringent/toner (also depending on your skin type) on a cotton ball and gently rub/pat on entire face. Wait for a minute and allow it to dry. Yes, this step is very important. There are many people that don't get it right because they are not using the right toner for their skin type- just use a mild one. Basically, a toner is designed to even out skin tone and reduce uneven spotting, etc. So as you can see, it is important to include this step, and complete the cycle. Apply some moisturizer (somewhat liberally) all over your face. If you suffer from blemishes, acne, etc., finish off with a cream designed to fight acne, such as clearasil. Use a facial scrub weekly and a facial mask monthly. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water everyday also ensures great skin! Hope this helps :)

Please DONT use toner. It's terrible for your skin, TRUST ME.
THis is what I do:
1) wet my face
2) put on a mild cleanser (like Cetaphil)
3) wait about 10 seconds
4) wash it off delicately
5) pat skin gently with a towel to dry
6) put on a mild cleanser (Cetaphil)
that's ALL you should do! Seriously. and if you have really bad acne or pimples just put spot gel (something mild)
Thats it. People say toner, this that.. no. That ruins your face. Trust me. I've learned.

I wash my face with Dove bar soap, sensitive skin (which has completely cleared up my acne... seriously),
I use a spot acne treatment if I need it, like Clean and Clear benzoyl peroxide tube,
I dab Eye-Con (by Benefit) eye cream under my eyes and below my brows,
Then I use Burt's Bee's Radiance Night Creme all over my face because it's almost 100% natural and it makes me feel like I'm doing something good for myself.
Viola! My skin always feels so soft and smooth in the morning. Good luck.

cleanse, exfoliate, tone & moisturize! You can get this done with many products, but I suggest Mary Kay TimeWise 3-n-1 cleanser which handles cleansing, exfoliating and toning in 1 step. Then moisturize with Mary Kay TimeWise Moisturizer. Available in normal to dry skin and combonation to oily skin. This is a very gentle product and is also a Anti-aging product so it helps to keep wrinkles from appearing.

Wash off all of your make-up and moisturize if you don't have oily skin or if your cleanser already includes one.
