Heartburn can be caused by many different reason. But I will say in any case vomiting or drinking vinegar is simply moronic. If it is caused by an weak LES than you need to address what may trigger it. Like certain foods, vinegar for one, that are acidic, or spicy foods you get the idea. If you are overweight this is a major trigger, or eating near bedtime is brutal. If you have a hiatal hernia the same preventative measures apply, but a true hernia may require surgery to reduce it. Chronic heartburn can increase the chances for esophageal cancer and this is nothing to take lightly. In the meantime use Prilosec and that should help out.

Hi Jazzy!
Heart burn is not a disease. It's not even an illness. Heartburn is a symptom of other problems.

Many people think if you have heartburn, you have IBS and need to take a little purple for the rest of your life. This is not true. Did you ever watch those commercials? They tell you the pill will make you feel better but you will probably still have other problems that may be getting worse as time goes on.

What is the actual problem? You have clogged intestines. An overgrowth of yeast, parasites and other gunk caked onto the walls of your intestines. All of this "extra" stuff in your intestines is causing your intestines to back up into your stomach. There is no place for the food to go. It comes back into your stomach and back into your esophagus and, mixed with the stomach acid, it burns your esophagus. Please look article: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Heart_Burn_Is_Not_A_Disease/

What you can do to fix this problem.

You, and every single person who eats meat, unwashed fruits and vegetables, drinks un-distilled water, has ever taken an antibiotic, takes birth control pills, eats bread or donuts or candy, etc., should do an annual intestinal cleansing. The only alternative to the annual cleansing is to avoid all the afore mentioned items after your initial cleansing.

There are many ways to clean your intestines. Some people prefer to use the recipe below other folks like to buy kits for their cleansing. You decide what is best for you. No matter what you decide to use, you should drink ½ your body weight in ounces of water or similar beverage everyday. If you weigh 100 pounds, half of that is 50 pounds. You should drink 50 oz of water each day. Don’t like water? Add a little lemon or lime juice. Make herbal tea. Avoid caffeine please. Do not include your morning coffee in this count.

Take papaya before and after each meal. This will help with digestion while you are waiting for the cleansing to take effect. You can stop taking papaya after week two.
The Recipe (Please look article)

When you are done with this recipe or any other program, take echinacea daily for a week then take a week off and repeat. Then take it for a week once each month to stay healthy.

OMG!!!! Don't induce vomiting please??? Wot that will do will be to regurgitate the contents of your stomach. As it is you have acid fluid travelling up through your oesophagus, causing the heart burn. Wot do you think will happen if you encourage this action by vomiting !!! It'll burn like crazy ........ Go get yourself some organic apple cider vinegar and put into a glass with 250 ml of cold water. Drink up. This will realkalize the contents of your stomach, your body works best on an alkalinity of just over 7. At the moment it sounds to be quite acidic. Don't let anyone tell you vinegar will burn your insides, rubbish, organic apple cider vinegar is an alkaline food stuff and will produce an alkaline environment for you. It must be organic though, the commercial brands have had too much taken out of them. Good Luck...........:0)

I answered a very similar question in the link below.

The short answer: You have heartburn because you dont have enough acid in your stomach (I know its goes against the grain but its true) so you need to take a tablespoon of vinegar each day for about one to three weeks.

Check out the link for the long answer.

Amazingly enough chewing gum after ingesting anything. It helps to produce digestive enzymes, so that the food/liquid can digest and move on down the road.
