I adore the name Molly, but bean is a bit strange, it may have sentimental value to the mum, but the child has to walk through life being called molly bean.

The name Bean is actually a real name - it comes from Scotland and means "fair skinned." I think Molly-Bean is kinda cute. Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain also used the name for their daughter Frances Bean - apparently because she looked like a little bean on the ultrasound. :-)

Isn't that a jelly bean manufacturer? Sorry!! Molly yeah but Bean... ever heard of Mr. Bean? LOL sorry. Everyone has the right to choose their own child's name. But some people need to remember the child is the one that has to grow up with that name.

Molly is a great name. Bean i'm not so sure!
A better idea would've been to call her Molly and Molly-bean as a pet/nick name.
I'm sure it is very cute on a baby or toddler but what happens if she growns up to be a hot shot lawyer or surgeon or something?

The question is, what will the child think of it when she grows up? My guess is she will drop the Bean bit. Your friend could just have named her Molly and used Molly-Bean as a "pet name".
Children with "odd" names tend to use their second names (if they have them and they are more ordinary) or choose another name.
Useless information: Frank Zappa called his daughter Moon Unit - she now calls herself Moon.

I like Molly, the Bean part is a tad strange, but she's not the first. Kurt Cobain's daughter is named Frances Bean...
She'll be fine. =)

I do like the name molly but not really liking bean. When I was pregnant with my daughter we nick named her Pea coz of the size she was at that time. We actually named her Kortney-Grace but she still has the nick name Pea. (3yrs old now) But come to think of it I have heard worse names!!!
