I have designed some new panties, I would like to have them made by a manufacturer for me,?

I want to start seling them on ebay, How do I find a manufacturer to make them and send them to me so I can sell??

You might well want to find a smaller local machine shop (yellow pages?) and try that route.

If you really think a major manufacturer would be interested in setting machines and staff to handle a few dozen pairs of panties for an individual when they are making undreds of thousands of their existing patterns, you might need to re-think.

Also bear in mind that manufacturers (as opposed to smaller "shops") may well decided that if your pattern is very good - they will simply "borrow! it, make a couple of minor changes so you cannot easily claim they stole it - and then sell what is basically YOUR design - cutting you out of the loop.

Also, unless you have a LOT of money set aside, even if they simply took your idea 100%, it is questionable if you could afford to take them to court to prove they stole your design.

Is this something a moderately skilled machinist could make from home? Might it be worth posting a notice on a local noticveboard that seamstresses with experience in undergarments could have some home work to do?

Cheaper and FAR less likely that someone will try and steal your design - and will also be happy with small quantities while you get yourself established.

If a year or two down the line, you can afford to have then made in their hundreds or even thousands, then yes - machine shop time.

What is new about them?

There are many small manufacturers around who will make things for you in small runs. It depends on how many you want to purchase as an initial order.
Most of them are in the far east, but most cities have a small clothing manufacturer

Get them sewn by a friend or local store and try to sell them. You might lose money on these, since they're being made one at a time. But you will get a good guage of demand.
If the demand exists, look at http://www.globalsources.com http://www.b2bchinasources.com or contact a importing broker who can assist you with getting the panties made to your specs manufactured and ship to your door.

what's wrong with the current panties...i mean it's pretty basic...do we really need another line of panties...i don't know what more you can offer besides boy-cut, hi-cut,low-rise,briefs,and thongs....how about creating pants that don't show your panties when you bend over!!!
