I don't think any animals should have "rights" that are written into law. Yes I think that some people are extremely cruel to them, and that is very sad. And in a lot of cases those people need serious mental help. But as far as laws making cruelty punishable by law, especially with any kind of prison time attached to it... well that's just insane.

if you cant treat them as you would children you have no right owning one personally i have a guniea pig that i feel guilty enough leaving in a cage while i work all day i would love a dog but i know that would be unfair
if all people thought like this and spayed and nuetered their dogs we wouldnt have a problem animals would be happy
as far as the law is concerned though they deserve food water and shelter and to not be beaten so severly it shows on them

Animals do have rights. They have the right to feel safe, be provided for, and be protected. Much like us. People who hurt animals is breaking laws and should be (will be if caught) punished.

of course animals have rights. They are our responsibility to take care of and they deserve the right to a safe enviornment, to be fed and sheltered and taken to the vet when ill. loved and protected.

well at least not get beaten, or abused.
You don't chain up kids to a 10 foot chain and leave them outside all the time and never let them off the chain. What's the point of having a dog????

YES THEY MUST HAVE RIGHTS.They have rights because they are living beings equal to every other.RSPCA?They should not be beaten for the same reason you shouldn't get beaten.Many other rights should be published so that every idiot who hurts his/her animal knows that it is wrong.

i am sorry but i think you hate animals seeing your other questions..........................why don't ypu all realise animals have feelings...they are living...IF HUMANS CAN HAVE CERTAIN RIGHTS THEN WHY NOT ANIMALS EVEN THEY ARE CREATIONS OF GOD WHO LOVES THEM AS MUCH AS HE LOVES US
