I will assume you live in the USA.Before I answer i want to add a disclaimer..I am Not aProfessional in any sense of the word. However, i do work with Mental Health Patients on a Day to Day Basis, and work closely with the therapists they see. So, i can say you Have what is called A Bi-polar disorder. This is exactly what you have described.you have two options..you can ignore it,pretend it will go away and watch your life spiral out of control,or you can seek help.Call your local Hospital(s) ,and ask if they have a Day Treatment Behavioral Health outpatient program.Dont worry about the cost, most hospitals will figure something out. Just get the help you need ok?

I generally think that that may be "clinical depression"...
my friend is just like that...and he went to the doctors for help.
Do you speak to other people about this? You really need to let it out because it will make you feel better and there are definitely people out there who will help you and support you. I think you should look on the brighter side of life, positive things in life.... You may keep thinking to yourself how much you hate life and how depressing it all is....When only you can change this. Only you can make your life better. If you never try you never get. Have some time out of everything and relax more, socialise..make new friends. Maybe its a bit silly to read what a 15 yr old girl has written...because i still i think quite immature...haha...so i thought i'd just thought i'd put a quote i read on the internet, in which i read to make me feel better about life ...
"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin."

Welcome to the club. Sometimes I do have some really sh...y days myself but maybe reading a 'Daily Bread' each morning or getting a really good friend who is always there for you when you are feeling like that would really work or just get on the net and look up some jokes when next you are feelign depressed. A passage a day from the Bible does work too or go out for a breath of fres air and revel in the thought that at least you are alive to change what is happening. Others aren't so lucky.
GOOD LUCK!

You're a single-mom with 2 kids, very stressed, and you tell everyone around you everything's fine, even though it isn't.
Have I got that right?
Of course you have no support in your life if you lie to everyone.
Are there any people in your life that, if you WERE to talk openly to them, they would listen to you?
If so, try that first.
You shouldn't have to make yourself be alone when you have people in your life who care about you.
You need social and emotional support -- of course you do. Everyone does, especially when their lives are super-stressy.
So, try to talk honestly to those who care about you.
If you do that, and find they don't listen, pick up a phone book and look under mental health services.
Don't go for meds, or listen to people's diagnosis of bi-polar or what have you.
It sounds as though you've a lot of stress in your life -- that's not a biological problem, but a psychological and emotional one.
If you aren't able to open up to those who love you, then do find a counselor or therapist of some kind. After working with them, you will probably be able to open up to friends and family and get the support you need.
Don't go looking for a relationship right now.
Get your head straight, and get support from friends and family first.

Alter your expectations...
You will be surprised how much better you feel when you adjust your choices on what you do, and don't care about. I mean REALLY care about.
Are men all that important to you? Well they shouldn't be #1. on your list I'll tell you that much.
How important is time with your kids? DO you have fun with them, or just leave them to their own devices and sit and entertain yourself at pity parties with cheap wine and fat free crackers?
There are distractions and then there are choices we make.
Life is not all about always being happy. Sometimes it is about learning to look around you and understand what the word content means.
It heals a world of Ill's inside a head that is fed primarily on the unrealistic television commercial type of lifestyle that is virtually unobtainable except to a very small number of the population.
Take it easy... and be realistic...
I always say... "Mental health is all about, responsability, accountability and honesty within the self."
Write out a list of your priorities and then rate them honestly from 1 to 10. Then... write out a list of what you want as opposed to what you actually have. then rate the lot on importance and reality...
How important are most of those things in the big scheme of things? and what little things, what precious things are you sacrificing on your little pity alter in order to try and have something other than what you do?
Everyone want's the 2.5 children, the white picket fence and a man that loves and adores them. Realistically... it is not all that big a deal to have any of the above, if you are content and happy with what you do have and work hard at making it as special and as beautiful as you can. .
Like healthy happy well adjusted kids...with a happy healthy mother who loves them... That to me... is paramount and above all else in life!
Some things in life... are not all about you.and you get more out of what you give than what you get.

I'm pretty much alone too & a single parent--it's SO hard, but BUCK UP!
Yes, there's medicine to help! I've tried 3 or 4 anti-depressants over the years-- I never found one to work but I'm weird.
After a while I found it within myself to 'buck up' & ignore alot of my feelings & just pretend & "put on a happy face" when necessary & push away depressing thoughts. EVentually, they fell to the wayside & altho' I'm still moody & on the depressed side, it's just my nature.
It may take time to find the right RX, but if you feel that desperate, PLEASE go to a professional!
AND REMEMBER--- each day is a process, a path, to get to better times, to get to Normal or happy, okay? Keep the "BIG PICTURE" in mind--think of months & years down the road---what you're doing & going thru now is just temporary & just the process you have to go thru to get to the goal.
....

here is the best piece of advice I can give.....WE ALL feel this way from time to time, some more than others....When you start to feel overwhelmed get out of the house! Breathe fresh air and look at your children and what gifts they are to have. Feel fortunate you are not in the shape of a lot of less fortunate people in the world. There are many suffering....Most of us are spoiled and expect instant gratification .....well, life isn't suppose to be easy! HIT it head on and be happy. You only have this one chance, so live. LIVE!

being a single parent of 2 small children is very hard job.. even with a partner it is hard... and we all need help from time to time to just get by
Go and see your Dr.. he can and will prescribe something for you to take to help you cope
take the focus off finding a relationship and place it on your family and what is best for them and you will see that a relationship will happen when you least expect it.. you will be much happier and so will the kids
